Perfect Peace

Good morning from Westminster, MD!

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.” (Isaiah 26:3-4) Over the two and a half years I have been traveling back and forth from Nicaragua I have found this truth to be extremely valuable. Due to my travel schedule, I have found it very difficult to ever feel completely settled. This has taught me that the only way I will ever find peace that transcends the constantly changing nature of life is by placing my feet firmly on the Rock that does not change. This means daily choosing to place my trust in the Lord. This is not because God is not faithful, but rather because I tend to become distracted by the less stable things in life. This daily decision to trust that God is true to his promises is big part of what it means to remain steadfast.

It is my hope to understand God’s perfect peace a little better each day. I am certainly still a work in progress. Some days our better than others, but every day brings a new opportunity to move a little closer – a chance to remain steadfast.
