On the Road Again
Well, tonight I am writing this post from a hotel room in Atlanta. Why you ask? I have the privilege of going to the Catalyst Conference tomorrow. I also attended this conference last year and was very encouraged by it.
So what is the Catalyst Conference, you ask? According to their website, www.catalystconference.com, it is, “a powerful gathering of young leaders, a movement of influencers and world changers who love Jesus, see things differently, and feel a burden for our generation. We seek to learn worship and create together with a momentous energy passionately pursuing God.” To me Catalyst is an opportunity to be encouraged by others who are also craziness enough to believe they can change the world through the power of Jesus Christ. I am extremely excited to learn from the great group of speakers who will be at the conference and to be energized by the 13,000 other people worshiping and going after it.
Last year the theme of Catalyst was “Be Present”. I found it incredibly valuable to think about my need to be in the moment, both with God and with the people around me. Since I have a tendency to be juggling a lot of different activities and opportunities, being present is something I really have to be intentional about. I certainly haven’t figured it all out, but I feel my awareness of my need for it is much greater. This year’s theme is “Make”. The website mentions this making of a leader and the process behind it. I am looking forward to seeing what applies to my life.
Due to my travelling, that is all for this week. I am sure I will have some great thoughts to pass on next week. Until next week!
