The Pictures Say It All
Good evening from Nicaragua! Over the past two weeks, I have had the opportunity to be a part of a few neat experiences. For this reason, I decided that it would be more appropriate to give you a visual picture of all that has happened. I hope you enjoy the pictures and check back next week for another post.

- A shot of the cove in the morning from the restaurant at which we ate breakfast. Due to the earthquake, there was a tsunami warning, which thankfully was notning more than a warning.
- A morning picture of the cliffs. Shortly after taking this picture, we experienced a 7.6 magnitude earthquake. It was a little disconcerting, but everything was okay.
- A crab friend we met Tuesday evening.
- Micah and I ate dinner at a restaurant on the beach. This is a shot of the cliffs and Jesus statue at San Juan Del Sur.
- One more sunset shot from the beach at San Juan Del Sur. God is certainly creative.
- The colors in the sky and water that were created by the sunset were breathtaking.
- The sun sets directly over the cove at San Juan Del Sur making for some incredible sunsets.
- An evening shot of the beach at San Juan Del Sur.
- A morning picture of the port at Jan Juan Del Sur taken from our hotel room.
- We stopped at this restaurant to grab a soda before driving back across the island to catch the ferry. Most of the roads on Ometepe are unpaved so they make for quite the adventure.
- Micah and I enjoying the fruits of our labor.
- A closer picture of the waterfall, which is approximately 150 meters tall.
- Another shot of the waterfall
- A picture of the waterfall as we came out of the jungle and into the clearing. It is a challenging hike, but well worth the energy.
- A picture of the trail behind us as we continue the climb to the waterfall.
- One of the beautiful spots we viewed as we ascended the volcano to the waterfall.
- A picture of the path leading to the waterfall on Maderas Volcano. We drove two kilometer and then hiked two kilometers up the volcano to view the waterfall.
- The national tree of Nicaragua.
- Picture from our driver Jorge’s truck of the “traffic” on Ometepe. Because the ferry was not running and we could not get my truck over to Ometepe, we reserved a driver for the day.
- Another shot of La Concepcion from the wooden boat. We had to take the wooden boat across because the larger ferry had lost its propeller.
- A picture of La Concepcion, one of the two Volcanoes that form Ometepe Island.
- A picture from the wooden boat Micah and I took to Ometepe Island. Ometepe Island is in the middle of Lake Nicaragua.
- The Quiceaneras getting ready to cut the cakes.
- The eleven Quinceaneras celebrating their big day in style. I had the opportunity to attend this great celebration of a big milestone in the life of Latin American girls.
I love your pictures. Thank you for allowing us to share in your adventures with God and Nicaragua.
Thanks, Margaret! It has definitely been an adventure!
